About this webinar

This session is sponsored by the National Black Child Development Institute.

It's a fact that strong early social-emotional development underlies future academic success, but how often do you, as the administrator, examine the impact family culture has on your program's social-emotional ecosystem?  Join this free webinar to learn more about the relationship between culture, program administration and social-emotional development.

The session, presented by Felicia DeHaney, Chief Executive Officer of the National Black Child Development Institute, one of our country's leading experts on child development for children of color, will address issues of the social-emotional development of children from birth through age eight from a cultural perspective. The session will cover:

  • school as a stressor

  • familial cultural and linguistic identity

  • building and supporting resilience

  • your role in guiding teachers and families to support social emotional development.

Participants will receive practical tools and strategies to strengthen what they are currently doing to help children succeed in school. All sessions are 1.5 hours long, and include a brief announcement from our sponsor. 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM Eastern Time.
