Are you looking for great books to spark young children’s interest in nature, inspire impactful green actions for children to take, or looking for books that inspire you with nature experiences for your program? This is the webinar for you! In this webinar, you will join three experienced librarians with passion for the planet and for books to hear about the award winners of the Blueberry Awards. The Evanston Public Library Blueberry Committee puts in 15 months of work to read all the nature and planet books for kids 3 and up for a given year and then picks out the very best so you don't have to!
Learn about the Blueberry Awards, featuring the best books to help kids connect with nature and act for the planet. Blueberry Committee members, Betsy Bird, Martha Meyer and Bridget Petrites will share book talks of their favorites from the 2022 Blueberry Awards and preview a few from 2023, too, along with great ideas for how to use them. Find out how you can get the book titles and the flyer each year before Earth Day. Learn how you can use the Blueberry Awards to partner with our local ecology center or parks department. All sessions are 1.5 hours long and include a brief announcement from our sponsor. 2:oo PM – 3:30 PM Eastern Time.
