Early childhood teachers and administrators often use time-out as a guidance method for challenging behaviors. Time-out was originally developed as a positive guidance technique, yet we often miss the mark when we use it.  This webinar will explain how early childhood administrators and teachers can do things differently to help ALL students succeed. Supporting teachers so that they can support the children in their classrooms isn't always easy.  That task becomes even more profound when challenging behavior is involved, and the teacher's best efforts haven't met with many results. Time-out often triggers more unwanted behavior, and worse, can cause children to internalize negative self-concepts.  Switching our paradigms and perspectives can yield much better results.  Using our hearts and our heads to be proactive can help the classroom climate become more tranquil and positive.
