About this webinar
This session is sponsored by MyChild Daily Reports, Hot Topics for ECE Administrators Series.
They can seem as elusive as shooting stars: Talented ECE teachers who are a good fit with your program and who stay (and thrive) there for a long time. Although child care has gained a reputation - not entirely

undeserved - as a low-paying, high-turnover industry, there are secrets to finding these superstars and retaining them at your program.
There is a "virtuous cycle" of employee retention in ECE: the better you are at keeping your employees engaged and happy, the easier it is to attract new quality talent to your program on an ongoing basis. And, of course, it goes without saying that excellent teachers are a key component of positive outcomes for the children at your center.
In Hiring for the Long Haul: How To Attract, Engage, and Retain the Very Best ECE Teaching Talent, I will explain how successful hires start with well-written, well-placed job ads and smart networking strategies.
Then, we'll move into how to set up your application screening process and interviews in a way that weeds out potential fit and performance problems before those people are ever hired. I will also explain how to avoid many common but wildly illegal interview questions that can land you in hot water down the line.
Finally, I'll cover why retention is something you need to keep in mind from a teacher's very first day on the job, and how mentoring and employee orientation programs can help you keep your key talent and make those teachers feel valued and appreciated—even if you don’t have unlimited funds for big salaries and bonuses.
