Bio

Sophie Rayner-Grignon brings over 11 years of specialized expertise in infant and toddler care, with a deep focus on infant mental health, trauma-informed practice, and attachment-based learning. Her career spans both centre-based and community-based early years programs, informed by a global perspective shaped during her time in Japan supporting children with disabilities.

For over 8 years, Sophie has worked in an accredited mental health centre, where she integrated research-based strategies into early learning environments, guided by partnerships with leading institutions including SickKids Hospital’s Infant Mental Health Promotion Team, CHEO, Mothercraft College, and Zero to Three. She has delivered professional learning for educators, supported early literacy and intervention initiatives, and advised on best practices for family engagement.

Currently, Sophie is expanding her expertise through developmental data analysis with Queen’s University, while continuing to champion evidence-based infant care that prioritizes secure relationships, resilience, and quality early childhood experiences. Her facilitation work bridges research and real-world practice, equipping educators with tools to better support children and families in the earliest years.
