Shannon Merenstein is co-founder of The Creativity Project, an online resource for educators and caregivers endeavoring to prioritize creativity, art, and play in learning spaces. The Creativity Project offers curriculum and courses centered on agency, creativity, and flow, helping educators become confident using open ended materials and seeing children as capable. Shannon is passionately dedicated to increasing access to joyful, creative learning for all children. Her local work in Pittsburgh through Hatch has resulted in the transformation of many public school classrooms shifting to support extended periods of open ended play. Play labs encourage children to explore their interests and ideas, feel a sense of belonging in school, and grow and learn socially, emotionally, cognitively, and creatively. Shannon has been creating, playing, and learning with children for 17 years, is the author of Collage Workshop for Kids with the Eric Carle Museum, and is a mom to two amazing kids!
