Katherine Falen, MEd. has 25 years of experience in the f1eld of early childhood education, with over 15 years as a specialist in infants and toddlers. She received a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, with a specialization in birth to three, from the Erikson Institute and a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University in Liberal Arts. In addition to her current work in the Child Care and Head Start Training and Technical Assistance system, she has worked in child welfare; early childhood education, including child care and Head Start; philanthropy; higher education; and state government. Her professional interests focus on healthy social emotional development of young children, family support, and quality improvement of early care and education services. She is past co-director of Better Brains for Babies, a Georgia-based initiative dedicated to promoting awareness and education about the importance of early brain development in the healthy growth and development of infants and young children.
