Wendy Young, LMSW, BCD, the presenter of Time-Out for Exclusionary Tactics in ECE Settings: Leading with Heads and Hearts, is the mom of three school-aged children and a Child & Family Therapist. She is the founder of Kidlutions: Solutions for Kids and the Kidlutions Preferred Product Awards for Social-Emotional Development. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Michigan State University’s School of Clinical Social Work. She is a Certified School Social Worker, a Board Certified Diplomate, and the Clinical Director of Comprehensive Counseling & Consulting, LLC. She provides contracted services to Michigan’s School-Based Mental Health Programming and is the behavioral health expert for Momtourage.com, which is affiliated with NBC Studios. She provides mental health consultation to numerous early childhood programs, including Head Start and Early Head Start in the Midwest region. In addition to being a contributor to two character development curriculums, her writing has appeared in Chicken Soup for the Soul books, Family Fun Magazine, Woman’s World Magazine, The Next Step Magazine and more. She resides in Michigan’s rural Upper Peninsula with her family, where it’s commonplace to spot deer, moose, bears, coyotes, foxes, bald eagles and more.
