Punishment is a quick fix, but what is the child learning? What are the other children learning? When teachers know the child, understand the function of the behavior, and teach the child skills to meet their needs appropriately they can make a real difference in a child's life.
This webinar explores alternatives to time out and the effects of punishment. It examines the use of natural and logical consequences, and provides an overview of Functional Assessment an important tool that enables early childhood educators to help children with challenging behavior learn appropriate ways to express their needs.
