PLEASE NOTE NEW DATE! OCTOBER 31, 2012!
Children spend a significant time in child care settings. Early care and education programs should be safe and healthy and provide a learning environment free from exposures to lead, pesticides, plastics, harsh cleaning products and other hazards.
Have you ever wondered how the environment or the chemicals used in your program impact the children and staff? Is there a connection between the chemicals used in everyday products, one’s exposure to those chemicals and one’s health? As an administrator, there’s a lot you can do to improve the environmental health of your program. Armed with knowledge and support, making your program healthier and safer can be a reality.
In this webinar you will have an opportunity to:
– Learn about major environmental health issues affecting young children.
– Understand why children are uniquely vulnerable to environmental hazards.
– Take an in depth look at Lead and Plastics, and learn free or low-cost preventative actions to reduce environmental health risks.
– Be introduced to the EHCC checklist and learn how to become endorsed by the Eco-Healthy Child Care® program.
The award-winning Eco-Healthy Child Care® (EHCC) program helps early childhood learning environments to be as healthy, safe and green as possible by reducing children’s exposure to toxic chemicals. EHCC is a national program that seeks to improve the environmental health of children by partnering with child care professionals to eliminate or reduce environmental health hazards found in child care facilities.
You will also hear from a provider who successfully implemented the Eco-Healthy Child Care® program and hear tips about how you can join the movement to ensure all child cares are safe and healthy.
Join us to learn about how you can get started in making your program more environmentally healthy.
