Being a child care administrator or family child care provider can sometimes be like a high-wire tightrope walker. As the primary leader in your organization, you have to maintain a careful balance between nurturing open relationships with parents and establishing clear business guidelines and procedures. It may seem counterintuitive, but clear, well-implemented policies and contracts can actually pave the way for warm, caring professional relationships by establishing common ground right from the start. Join Tom Copeland as he shares his road map on How to Establish and Maintain Effective Business Relationships with Parents.
This session will help you create a more successful child care business by showing you how to make the best use of their program’s contracts and policies. It will tell you how to:
• recognize differences between contracts and policies, and how they work together
• identify the four key elements of contracts
• include the two most important terms in your contracts
• enforce your contract and policies
• resolve common conflicts with parents
• identify when it may not be a good idea to accept a parent into your program
• handle common pesky parent problems like late pickups, chemically impaired parents, and other difficult problems
By the end of this session you will have more control over your early childhood business and be more comfortable enforcing your agreements with parents.
All sessions are 1.5 hours long, and include a brief announcement from our sponsor.
2:oo PM – 3:30 PM Eastern Time.
