Working with children who exhibit challenging behavior is no easy task! While there are hundreds of popular strategies and methods that promise to help reduce challenging behaviors, very few are as simple as the four common-sense steps our presenter, Rachel Wagner, will present in this powerful webinar Join us to learn new skills to help young children (ages 3-8) learn about their feelings, gain self-control and reduce challenging behavior. Rachel will walk you through the four steps of FLIP IT, which is embodied in the mnemonic: F- Feelings, L-Limits, I-Inquiries, P-Prompts. You will learn the research behind these simple, kind, strength-based, and effective steps and the actions you can take immediately after the session to begin transforming challenging behavior.
In this session you will:
1. Learn the key strategies, including the importance of building relationships, offering empathy and understanding the risk factors that contribute to children’s use of challenging behavior.
2. Explore the steps of the FLIP IT process and the prompts so you can start using the FLIP IT strategy right away.
All sessions are 1.5 hours long, and include a brief announcement from our sponsor.
