Bio

Melody is an early childhood specialist, leader and speaker, who holds a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and a M.Ed. in Education Management. Melody currently works as a supervisor within Fairfax County’s Institute for Early Learning where she oversees specialists as they design and facilitate professional development for early childhood educators. She has been working in the field for over two decades in a variety of roles ranging from center director to grant support specialist. Melody is deeply committed to social justice, equity, and continuous reflection and has participated in various diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, both professionally and personally. Melody is dedicated to supporting early childhood professionals in their understanding of relationship, empathy-based support, to provide high quality, equitable educational experiences for all families and children.
