Dr. Allison Barness has a comprehensive educational background with an Ed.D. in Curriculum & Instruction (2019), an M.A.E. in Early Childhood (2011), and a B.A. in Elementary Education (2007) from the University of Northern Iowa, along with various endorsements. Professionally, she has progressed from a tenure-track instructor to a tenured assistant professor at the University of Northern Iowa and held teaching positions at the Malcolm Price Laboratory School. She has delivered numerous professional learning workshops, participated in summer camps, and received several honors, including the Panther First Award (2024). Dr. Barness's scholarship includes co-authored book chapters, publications on early childhood education, and curriculum development in STEM and social-emotional learning. She has presented at international and national conferences, served on advisory boards and university committees, and has a diverse teaching portfolio in early childhood education. She is also active in professional memberships and advises graduate research projects, highlighting her dedication to early childhood education, curriculum innovation, and extensive service in academic and community spheres.
