Bio

Alan Guttman holds a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from New York University and has dedicated the past 34 years to serving young children, families, and early childhood programs.

He has presented on child abuse reporting for more than 17 years at local, county, state, regional, and national levels. Alan currently serves as the Program Manager for Early Childhood and Special Education Initiatives at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Technology in Education. In this role, he is contributing to the validation study of Maryland’s Quality Rating and Improvement System, Maryland EXCELS.

From 2001 to 2012, Alan was a member of federal Head Start review teams, evaluating the quality of education services and program management systems across the country.
