Books are the gifts that never stop giving, especially for preschool children. What better time to hear about and see some of the best books curated by three passionate children’s librarians with hearts of early educators, just in time for holiday gift giving (and receiving), classroom wish lists, and maybe even treating yourself!
Join our librarian friends from Evanston Public Library, Betsy Bird, Martha Meyer and Bridget Petrites as they share their year’s work on reading and discovering the best books of the year for children! Learn some criteria for selecting the best books. Find out about great books for kids from young ones to age 8, plus a couple of some suggestions for adults, too!
Objectives
1. Learn about some of the best books for kids published THIS year! Bring new books into your classroom or suggest them for gifts.
2. Learn Evanston Public Library’s criteria for great books for kids so you have an additional critical lens to use in selection!
3. Find out how to access the Evanston Public Library’s 101 list for 2023 — and also the past FOUR years!
All sessions are 1.5 hours long and include a brief announcement from our sponsor.
