The Child Development and Early Learning Framework builds on the respected сертификаты earlier version (The Head Start Outcomes Framework) and adds some enhancements based on the latest research on school readiness and new legislation that may affect Head Start programs. Here are some highlights of what has changed:

- Social Studies Knowledge and Skills— also NEW, this contains the Family and Community element that was in Social and Emotional Development. The new elements here are History and Events and People and the Environment.
- English Language Acquisition— This NEW domain is only to be used to guide the teaching supports provided for children who are dual language learners. - Mathematics— In the old framework, the Mathematics domain had three elements. The content is the same, but two of the elements have been split.
- Number and Operations has been broken into two elements: Number Concepts and Quantities and Number Relationships and Operations.
- The old Patterns and Measurement element has now become a Patterns element plus an element for Measurement and Comparison.
- Social and Emotional Development— This domain has three of the old elements: Social Relationships, Self Concept and Self-Efficacy, and Self-Regulation (formerly Self-Control). Two of the old elements were moved elsewhere and a new one was added: Emotional and Behavioral Health.
- Approaches to Learning— This element kept Persistence and Attentiveness (formerly Engagement and Persistence) as well as Initiative and Curiosity. Reasoning and Problem Solving was moved out, and Cooperation was moved here from Social and Emotional Development.
The new Head Start Framework gives enhanced attention to meeting the needs of children who are DLLs by supporting their home languages while also scaffolding their development of English. One key emphasis in the Head Start Framework is the recommendation cheap jerseys that programs are to use linguistically and culturally appropriate assessments, and they are to allow children to show what they know and can do in any language including their home language.
