This session is sponsored by the McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership.
McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership and the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) presents tools and ideas to foster alignment among preschool, kindergarten, and early elementary programs. The PreK-3 transition period is critical for a child’s long-term success. However, instructional leadership that supports teaching along this continuum is complex. It requires activities and conversations to occur across a variety of roles, job titles, sectors, language, support systems, standards, curricula, and learning environments. We invite early childhood instructional leaders from community-based child care, family childcare, elementary schools, and private programs to consider practical steps to facilitate teaching and learning in this multi-layered system. This webinar will present new evidence from two recent surveys regarding organizational dynamics of the PreK-3 transition period. We will examine NAESP’s six competencies that characterize leadership of PreK-3 learning communities and explore how the McCormick Center supports leaders in building learning organizations. Join us to learn how to make the PreK-3 continuum in your program a success.
