Claire Lerner, L.C.S.W.-C is a licensed clinical social worker and child development specialist. She was the Director of Parenting Resources at ZERO TO THREE (ZTT) for over 18 years, overseeing the development of all parenting content, print and digital, for 18 years. Recently she has taken on the position of Director of Strategic Initiatives at ZTT to focus on developing new partnerships to expand the organization’s reach directly to parents.
Claire is the author of over 100 parenting publications and articles in addition to podcast and video series’ for parents and professionals. Claire has also written columns for Parenting: The Early Years and American Baby Magazines. She is frequently quoted in other Parenting publications and has been a source on early childhood development for NPR and numerous national daily newspapers such as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Los Angeles Times, the Boston Globe and the London Times.
In addition to creating content at ZTT, Claire has directed several professional development projects on building strong, trusting, collaborative relationships with families of young children.
Claire has also been a practicing clinician for over 27 years, providing parent education and consultation to families with young children. She provides consultation to local preschools, and also trains early childhood professionals and pediatricians on behavior, development and parenting.
Claire has participated on numerous national advisory panels and task forces related to early child development including the National Parenting Education Network and the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Committee on Early Childhood Development.
Claire is also the parent of 2 spirited children, Sam (23) and Jess (21).
