Ms. McCreedy the presenter of ECE Directors and Board Relationships: Developing and Leading an Effective Board of Directors has over 30 years of early childhood program management, oversight and review work in the early childhood field. Ms. McCreedy has held every position within a child care center from Classroom Teacher and Program Director to cook and bus driver. In her current position as a senior manager for ICF International, LCC, Ms. McCreedy works with many child care centers and their Boards of Directors across the country. She travels to different sites to provide training and technical assistance to staff and Board members to support their work to ensure high quality programming for young children and their families. Prior to her work for ICF, she was the Executive Director of a large nonprofit association of children care centers. She learned to work with Boards while managing a program with 14 sites, 1,000 children and over 200 staff. Ms. McCreedy has served on many local and statewide commissions and early childhood Boards. As the Training and Technical Director for ICF”s Early Education Institute Barb McCreedy guides the development and implementation of comprehensive, customized training and technical assistance for the early childhood community including support to the military, States and local programs. Support may include topics such as program management and administration, curriculum development and implementation, program observation, accreditation and quality assessment. In addition, Barb McCreedy serves as the National Child Care Advisor for the Department of Transportation. Ms. McCreedy has additional experience around the areas of leadership, supervision, coaching, adult learners and peer mentoring including the development of several articles and most recently a book entitled, Staying on Course: The Early Childhood Board’s Guide to Success. Ms. McCreedy is an accomplished trainer and national speaker.
